"W książce pokazałem kilka takich przykładów, np. jak nieodpowiedzialne może okazać się odejście dotychczasowego lidera samozarządzającej się firmy z nadzieją, że zespół jakoś sobie poradzi. Okazało się, że po kilkunastu latach organizacja, która w szczytowym okresie zatrudniała 5 tys. ludzi, obecnie, jeszcze przed okresem pandemii, zatrudnia tylko 50 osób. To tylko jeden z przykładów na to, że samozarządzanie wymaga trwałego przekonania i odpowiedzialności wszystkich zaangażowanych."
"Czy to sprawiedliwe, że szef firmy, ale także niektórzy jej pracownicy, zarabiają czasem znacznie więcej niż jej przeciętny współpracownik? Majątek Stayera, szefa "turkusowej" firmy Johnsonville ocenia się na ok. 1,3 miliarda dolarów.
Gdy mówi się o firmie jak o żywym organizmie, szefa porównuje się ją zwykle z organem sterującym, czyli mózgiem zespołu. Moją rolę porównałbym bardziej do serca.
